Here’s the latest and final single from the quite brilliant Gold Panda debut, ‘Lucky Shiner’ the song is called ‘Marriage’ and is already out to buy. So often you get to the end of an album campaign and everyone feels quite bored by it all really - not so here, when this video arrived everyone felt pretty happy with how fitting it was for such a great piece of music. The album is such a natural extention of Derwin anyway - that’s it’s impossible not to fall head over heals in love.
The next best thing was seeing remixes by Star Slinger, Baths, Forest Swords and Halls come together - individually brilliant, collectively the seminal? Each remix, which we’ll be unveiling very shortly, is beautiful and as we’ve twittered on mass, entirely individual and yet perfectly keeping with the original. The Technical strength of the Baths mix is obvious when you’re reminded he’s a classically trained musician, the same with Star Slinger, a perfect remix made by a man on an exciting journey and with a decades beat making experience behind him. Most startling of all is the Forest Swords remix, so emotional, so entirely ‘them’ (by this it’s a clear continuation of the FS sound but taking the melody of GP brilliantly).
And then he’s live at XOYO which sold out a month ago. There’ll be more. Much more.
